Garden Room Projects in Surrey

A modern rendered garden room built on ground screws with a flat roof and large sliding door. The client wanted a year-round home office and studio space with a clean, contemporary look that would complement a recently landscaped rear garden. The external finish is a through-colour render over SIP panels, with composite trim details and an aluminium sliding door system.

The internal specification includes a fully insulated floor, walls and roof, LED feature lighting and full electrics. The SIP shell delivers a high level of thermal performance, keeping the room comfortable throughout the year without heavy heating loads. Air conditioning handles any summer temperature management.

The western red cedar boarding gives the building a warm, natural feel that sits well in the garden and develops character as it weathers. Wall lights either side of the entrance add a considered finishing detail and make the room feel welcoming in the evenings.

The building was constructed on ground screw foundations — no concrete, minimal ground disturbance and a much faster installation than traditional strip or pad foundations. The composite decking and landscaping were designed alongside the room so the overall result feels integrated rather than an afterthought.
